Anton van Doornmalen combines musical diversity with social commitment Music can entertain, move and connect. For singer-songwriter Anton van Doornmalen, it is above all a language that needs no translation. In his concerts, different cultures, languages and musical influences come together. The result is more than an ordinary concert evening: it is a programme built around encounter, empathy and shared experience. It is therefore fitting that “Grenzenlos”, — “Without Borders” — is the title of the new concert season.
Van Doornmalen presents new songs alongside timeless classics. Accompanied by a professional band, he creates musical moments in which personal stories meet universal emotions. His particular strength lies not only in performing songs, but in giving them narrative depth. His concerts become journeys across countries, life stories and feelings. The Dutch musician sees himself as more than a singer and songwriter. He understands music as a bridge between people who may be separated by language, background or culture, but who can find common ground through melody, rhythm and storytelling.
His guiding idea is clear: “Music as a language without borders.” That idea does not end at the edge of the stage. Through his concerts, Anton van Doornmalen supports Sibusiso, a children’s project in Tanzania dedicated to helping children with intellectual disabilities and improving their prospects for the future.
In doing so, he combines artistic ambition with a tangible social cause. The evening therefore stands not only for musical quality, but also for the question of what culture can achieve. Anton van Doornmalen shows that music can be more than sound: it can be a means of understanding, a space for encounter and a contribution to a more humane world.
