Anton van Doornmalen releases his concert favourite “Federn lassen” on all major streaming platforms Growing older is often associated with loss: with fading strength, changes in the mirror and the growing awareness that life is finite. In his song “Federn lassen”, however, Anton van Doornmalen approaches this stage of life with calmness, warmth and a surprisingly light touch.
Anton van Doornmalen combines musical diversity with social commitment Music can entertain, move and connect. For singer-songwriter Anton van Doornmalen, it is above all a language that needs no translation. In his concerts, different cultures, languages and musical influences come together. The result is more than an ordinary concert evening: it is a programme built around encounter, empathy and shared experience. It is therefore fitting that “Grenzenlos”, — “Without Borders” — is the title of the new concert season.
Music knows no boundaries—no matter where you are. That’s why the title of Anton’s new concert series is “Boundless.” The singer is currently working on a new song that carries this very name. “Music gets under your skin,” he says. “There are five lines—the staff lines—that carry a story and tell a narrative.” When words fall short, it is music that connects. “Notes create a language that musicians around the world understand.”
Next Sunday, Anton will give a spring concert in Zevenbergen.
He will perform together with his live band in Zevenbergen, in the municipality of Moerdijk. The concert at Theater de Schuur on Kerkstraat begins at 2:00 PM; doors open at 1:30 PM. The concert is sold out.
The “Journey” concert begins at 2:00 PM, as usual.
Growing older can be something beautiful and meaningful—even if it comes with certain losses. It all depends on the right mindset. The song “Shedding Feathers” has long been a fan favorite at Anton’s concerts. On April 3, it will be released on Spotify and all other streaming platforms in both German and Dutch versions.
There are songs that connect generations. And there are songs that express the feeling of being a family in a very special way. “The Generation Song” is a beautiful example of this. Anton recorded the track together with his daughter and his granddaughter Lieke. The idea came from Lieke, who also takes the lead vocal. In the folk-inspired song, the lyrics say: “Love is just everything / Love is even more / Love is the reason / It’s the reason that we’re living for.” In other words: Love is everything — and even more. It is the reason we live.
Anton wishes you a Happy New Year and all the best for 2026!
Things will get really peaceful again with the singer's most contemplative songs, especially beautiful: "Once Every Year":
The song "Once Every Year" is already a real Christmas hit in Anton's repertoire.

And because Christmas is just around the corner, here's the song to sing along to:
Once every year

A Once every year
When the nights are long
As concerns music, the famous Beatles are among Anton's greatest role models. This is the very time to recall John Lennon's message of peace: "Imagine".
"After all, every person wants to live in peace and freedom," said the Dutch singer.
The song "Imagine" describes the vision of a society free of religion, nationalism and property. It is a call for peace and is the anthem of the peace movement of the 70s. It is one of the best songs of all time, as published by the US magazine Rolling Stone.
Right now, no song seems to fit better than this track. The sing-along song "Immer scheint die Sonne" (The sun always shines) simply spreads a good mood. Because the sun is always there - even if the weather is rather restrained in the current spring and April does what it wants.
The lyrics say "The sun always shines, / no matter where you are. "The beauty of the sun is: it costs nothing, it always shines - no matter what. We can also be inspired by it here on earth, says the Dutch singer-songwriter.
The song to be found on the album "Glücklich sein".
The song Gute Nacht, Freunde ("Good Night, Friends") was written by German singer-songwriter Reinhard Mey. It's a classic that concertgoers, especially those attending performances by Anton van Doornmalen –greatly appreciate. Anton always ends his concerts with this song, both in Germany and in the Netherlands. That’s because Dutch audiences also know and love this piece.
"May I please to dance. To dance in May," asks Anton in the song "Lass uns tanzen" (Engl. Let´s dance"). It is the song for dancing in May. Because Anton sings the fantasy of dancing in a Dutch tulip field in this lively song. That's something special. And continues: “Floating across the dance floor, the two of us, the two of us!”
You can find more songs on Anton's CDs, but also on the You Tube channel. News can be found here or in the socials. You can be curious!
Anton didn't have far to travel when he performed in Zevenbergen on Sunday. The small town in the municipality of Moerdijk near Fijnaart is home to the beautiful cabaret theater de Schuur, where Anton celebrated his premiere together with his live band.
Warm songs about life
Anton knows a thing or two about crossing borders. The singer-songwriter not only lives in the Netherlands, but also in Germany. He has already given many concerts here with up to 350 visitors, mainly in the district of Soest (including Büderich, Bad Sassendorf, Bad Waldliesborn), but also in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
