Anton kicks off the new season with a unifying theme
Anton van Doornmalen is heading into the autumn season with fresh musical ideas. The first highlight will be a concert on Sunday, October 11, at Theater de Schuur in Zevenbergen, the Netherlands. Together with his professional live band, the singer will take to the stage at 2 p.m., with doors opening at 1:30 p.m.
The concert also marks the beginning of a new musical theme: “Grenzenlos” (Boundless). It is a motto that suits Anton van Doornmalen particularly well, as the singer moves between different worlds not only musically. He divides his time between the Netherlands and Werl-Büderich in the Soest district of Germany, making him a border-crosser in both a geographical and personal sense.
Over the years, van Doornmalen has built up a loyal following in Westphalia. He has many close friends and long-standing connections in Werl-Büderich and the surrounding area. His German fans also have something to look forward to, as another concert in the region is expected to take place in the coming year.
Melodies and stories
Over the years, van Doornmalen has built up a loyal following in Westphalia. He has many close friends and long-standing connections in Werl-Büderich and the surrounding area. His German fans also have something to look forward to, as another concert in the region is expected to take place in the coming year.
Musically, Anton van Doornmalen also refuses to be confined by borders. His songs cross geographical, linguistic and emotional boundaries. As a singer-songwriter, he combines melodies and stories with influences from different cultures. He sees his concerts not simply as performances, but as encounters between people, countries and different ways of life.
His engagement for Sibusiso
The programme will feature new songs as well as familiar and timeless favourites. Together with his live band, van Doornmalen aims to create an atmosphere in which music brings people together and creates a genuine sense of connection. His commitment, however, extends far beyond the stage. For many years, Anton van Doornmalen has supported the Sibusiso project in Tanzania, which works to improve the lives of children with intellectual disabilities and their families. In this way, the musician combines his artistic work with a strong sense of social responsibility.
The new theme “Boundless” brings these different aspects of his work together: music as a connecting force between regions, languages, cultures and people.
